I've struggled to write something for the past few days about the school shootings in Newtown, CT - where 20 children and 6 adults were gunned down by a madman for reasons still unknown.
I've decided I just can't write about it. It's too close. My little girl is very close to the age of the young victims and it pains me to think about what their families are going through. I can't imagine it. I don't really want to imagine it.
There is so much evil in this world, but there is also so much good. I keep reminding myself of that.
Tonight I will say a prayer for the victims, their families, the community that has been shattered by this tragedy. I will kiss my children goodnight and pray that they are safe, but we all take chances the minute we step out the front door. The world is full of unknowns and we can't live in fear.
